Door Orientation
– It's more than
safety!
In most cities, the fire
regulations require the exterior door of a
commercial unit to be opened to the outside.
That is, one has to pull the door from the
outside to get in. In case there is a fire
inside the unit, the crowd just has to push the
door to escape which is much easier than to pull the
door. This orientation will, actually,
affect the willingness of the shoppers to go
inside the stores. Which side (left or
right) to open the door will also be a factor ... |
